powder media products. These products are designed to
promote cell growth in both a serum supplemented and a serum-free
environment. The products include easy-to-use media
intended for use in t-cells, long-term culture of embyronic
hippocamal neurons, and insect cell growth. Each product is
available in a number of options.
Gemini’s SFIM60 which is a serum and protein-free medium
developed for the growth of Sf-9 cells and for use in the
Baculovirus protein expression platform. While SFIM60 was
optimized for Sf-9 cells, it has produced excellent results with
other insect cell lines, including Sf-21 and TN368 cells.
Yssel’s medium was developed specifically for human T-cell growth
with little or no use of bovine serum. It works well with small
amounts of human serum (0.5-2.0%) and/or various interleukins.
Use of Yssel’s medium eliminates the need for fetal bovine serum
in T-cell cultures.

with 2-10% fetal bovine serum. It supports a variety of insect
cells, including several lepidopterans and some dipterans. This
medium lacks the lactalbumin hydrolysate and yeastolate added to
TNM-FH medium. We manufacture all our insect media only with
stabilized L-glutamine to ensure the longest possible shelf life.
