During this webinar, we will review three applications. The first set of data will review measuring reactive oxygen species using ThermoFisher’s CellROx assay. This is a powerful assay made easily accessible on the easy to use Moxi GO II instrument. The second assay will demonstrate monitoring mitochondrial membrane potential using TMRE as a reporting agent. The third assay is an apoptosis assay that uses FITC Annexin-V with Propidium Iodide to monitor early and late stage apoptosis.

Guest speaker Dr. Natasha Sheybani from the University of Virginia introduces a disruptive, emerging therapeutic technology for non-invasive, non-ionizing acoustic energy deposition into tumors: focused ultrasound (FUS). We explore how FUS is being leveraged to potentiate immune modulation, extracellular vesicle modulation and drug delivery in solid tumors. We cover a diverse array of pre-clinical and clinical applications at the cutting edge of FUS immunotherapy that span such settings as triple negative breast cancer and glioblastoma.

During this presentation we introduce the newest instrument in the Moxi family of products, the Moxi V (Viability). We review the basic functions of the instrument and several of the onboard assays. These assays include a PBMC check to validate the purity of PBMC sample preps and a CAR-T cell expansion assay to help accelerate CAR-T research.

A novel solid tumor model in the Petaka G3:  a simple, progressive, in-vitro model of the harsh tumor microenvironment and its implications in metastasis research

We present a model of chronic, progressive tumor hypoxia and nutritional restriction that is not easily replicated in any other device, and which establishes the minimum oxygen consumption of these cells in a manner similar to their in-vivo condition.  With this system, we provide for much longer chronic treatment than is possible in an open culture system like flasks.  In addition, we can easily multi-sample from the Petaka over weeks, so researchers can serially measure biomarkers of interest without disturbing the hypoxia treatment,

We present anonymized data from an ongoing collaboration that demonstrates our ability to eliminate passaging (cell harvest and reseeding) and go from small cell numbers (<1 million) to clinically relevant numbers (as high as 2 billion) in one closed device with simple to use microcarriers.
